France: Arrest after the kidnapping of the Swiss, web ecosystem 3 endangered by disturbing criminal wave

Crypto criminal matters associated with digital assets are increasingly concerned in Europe. In France, a new kidnapping, including the young Swiss, reminiscent of the waves of previous attacks, which sent panic in the ecosystem Web 3, was thwarted. Seven suspects were arrested, but many gray areas persist.

In short

  • In France, young Swiss was kidnapped in Valencia before the release and seven suspects were arrested during a huge police operation.
  • This case revives concerns about a number of kidnappings related to digital assets and web 3 ecosystems.
  • The multiplication of these incidents threatens investor trust and emphasizes the urgency of strengthening people’s security as well as with funds.

The kidnapping that is being fought is concerned

The scene took place in France Valencia, far from the festive legend of its Spanish cousin. The Swiss at the age of twenty was found tied in a house near the station. Operations, mobilizing nearly 150 police officers, allowed to arrest seven individuals in two consecutive raids. In addition, there was also rumors in Le Bourgeet and said the CEO would be kidnapped on the street.

However, several questions remain unanswered: How long did the victim remain a prisoner? Was it directly associated with a crypt and digital property or simply focused on its assets? Above all, was it released due to rapid intervention or after paying the ransom? The previous ones indicate that some victims had to give up the requirements of the prisoners before their freedom.

Repetitive threat to the ecosystem in France

This is not the first time that France has been shaken by this type of business. In recent months, several founders, CEOs and influenced with blockchain have been focused. The arrest seemed at that time ended this series of attacks. However, this new case suggests two hypotheses: either some members of the first criminal network are still active, or new imitators accept their methods.

In both cases, observation is alarming. The Web3 rise attracts not only investors and entrepreneurs, but also criminals who seek to use relative opacity and highly liquid value of digital assets and crypto. The kidnapping is therefore added to a long list of threats that are already well known in the ecosystem: phishing, hactes, fraud.

What impact on confidence in Web3?

If these incidents were reproduced, the acceptance and implementation of projects in France could slow down. Institutional investors, which are cautious, could be afraid of exposure to themselves in an environment perceived as risky. As far as entrepreneurs are concerned, many of them could be tempted to move their activities to countries considered safer.

The French government, which was aware of the fragility of the ecosystem Web 3, a few months ago intensified its security manifestations. However, the repetition of such events shows that the question goes beyond the simple technological framework. Emphasizes the human problem: the protection of individuals, not just digital asset
