Cyrus breweries to find your sound with the new single “Know This”

The 31-year-old singer-storageer works hard to clearly define the sound and genre that he wants to share with the world. Although he is proud of the music he created earlier – his album 2021, Javelina, was the culmination of all the things he loved – Cyrus realized that he had to concentrate on one element who was.

“What I did in the past was everything I liked,” Cyrus says despite the approach from his house in Nashville in Tennessee. “I love another but one thing I read is that rather than do (all the sounds and styles that) I like, I want to do one thing and do it really well.”

His new single “Know This”, which contains his sister, a Grammy-playing singer Miley Cyrus, is now outside and refers to a new era of music for Bilère Cyrus. This also means that Cyrus works for the first time with his big sister.

Below is Cyrus about how the only cam on what a song means to him works with Miley, what music he wants to create and his future plans.

Laura Sirikul: Tell me about the single “Know This”. How did this song appear?

Cyrus Brew: As soon as I decided that this collection of songs would become an album, I had many people who would tell me I needed something with more energy. So I connected with my composer friend named Jordan Lindley and we were glad: “Let’s do it over the top and fun. Yet we focused on lyrics above all. But for this song it was more:” Let’s do more positive and fun. ”

I mean the lyrics are meaningful: “In my mind I think of new reasons, but I’m gone.” What is the meaning of the song for you?

I came back and changed (lyrics) because we were singing the same line again and again in the choir. Then we returned later as soon as we had the right kind of energy and adapted to the texts to fit. First we had energy, then we came back and said, “Well, now we will try to dive and do something.

My family grew up in an area south of Nashville, known as Franklin. Over the years it has been much larger, but it was relatively small and south of Nashville. When I was about to start high school, we move to Los Angeles. I would say, especially with Chorus, it was a bit about. The verses are, quite strange, about Franklin. It was a mixture of leaving Franklin to move to LA, and then left La to move back to Nashville. The verses were more about my hometown, while the choir felt more like it was.

You worked with many artists on music “here in the middle” with Sierra Lunda, FoxOld Sea Brigade, Steve Earle, Orville Peck(your sister) Noah Cyrusand (your dad) Billy Ray Cyrus. What did the one who sang with Miley Cyrus did, and why now?

Frankly, we recorded the whole song – full of production and everything – and then I just said, “This is missing this power.” I (I thought): “Who could I ask for the delivery of (this) forces behind it?” I sat there and kept my brain and then it jumped in my head. My engineer, who worked on the record (the same), also said. We both said “Miley” at the same time, because it is one of the things where it is somehow the closest thing for you, it is not the first thing you would think of for some reason. But as soon as I said it, there is no one who might probably give the kind of force that has loudly. So the next day I send her and she said, “Yes, the dream of me stems.” I expected me just sending me one file but feels me back 15 files to put myself on myself. That’s amazing. I remember listening to it without a trace behind her, and (heard) her harmony, her magazine, and all those things, (thinking), that’s perfect. I put it in Imosiely. I am dependent on the reverb and left her things as the most as possible, because I just want to hear his raw strength. There are very few people that I would have a voice album as such a kind of power that des.

Will a music video be released for this single? Or an acoustic video we will see or live with Miley?

We’ll find something really cool. That’s all I say about it.

It was 2021 from Javelina, a mixture of psychedelic, folk and American Alt-Counds. What can we expect from you in terms of new music and what sounds/mixtures of the genre would you like to have for this new album?

For this album I focused on lyrics, acoustic guitar, melodies and similar things. Then I put everything around the foundation. I feel like this was the result of not producing any of my own things in the past (I didn’t have the foundation I built as Assaff). But the creation of this record for the first three or four months, surrounded by alone, was the chance to build the foundation that I built Brick from Brick, at all intensively. Then I would like to: “You know what, that’s fine, but it doesn’t belong here. That should disappear.

I want to clearly define what I am good at and what makes people listen to and do it and do it more. The sale of 2021, my main goal was to make people happy and have a song that they can put on the car, we have a cycling path, we have a hike or p. (Only songs that) make them happy and pass time. This is the kind of my goal.

When you know clearly defined what would you say that your sound is at the moment?

For this record I would say – folk popular music, hopefully. I think of the influences I have and on all the people who sing on them. Maybe it’s as simple as that, like pop music, a goal for acoustic guitar. I think full pop music is where my head is right now.

You mentioned other people singing. Who can argue? Or who can you indicate to us?

Maybe another family member along the road. Tyler Ramsey of Band of Horses. My co -author Jordan Lindley. Old Sea Brigade. I’m trying to think. I think it is a lot ready, but yeah, other family members can appear.

Are there any other cooperations you would like to follow, especially with your family? Maybe future family albums?

That’s hard. Two of my favorite artists are Regina Spector and Imogen Heap. I think my dream collaboration would be with Imogen Heap.

What plans can we expect? Do you have any plans to turn to small came or cafes? Where can we see these songs?

Now we are starting to get into this stage. We look. If we go on a tour or play at festivals, we want to give the best and funny show. That found. I know we will appear at festivals and also on the road.
